Thank you for visiting our website. You are important to us. If you are just passing through, we wish you Godspeed and hope that you will visit us again. If you live in this area and are new to this parish, we welcome you and invite you to make Saint Bartholomew your church home. If you are a long-time member who has been gone for a while, welcome home–we’ve missed you! And if you are a member of this parish who generally shows up every week, thank you for your commitment to our parish family–“well done, good and faithful servant!”

Once again, we will be doing a Mitten tree. The children need donations of hats, gloves, mittens and socks for the mitten tree. Please bring them starting the Sunday after Thanksgiving and also on December 8 so that we can get these to the needing children in time for Christmas. Remember there are those who don’t have even these basic necessities for the coming cold winter. Everything will be distributed to children who desperately needed them.

The Book Club will meet on Tuesday December 10 at 7pm at the Gates Mills Public Library. The book being discussed will be “The Gruesome Discovery” by Cora Harrison.

Our Sunday School program will begin on September 29th at our 10:30 service. It is for children between the ages of 5 and 12 yars old. There is an information packet and registration information available at the church. There is also a sitter available for younger children. John Denholm, a leader in the Knight Riders Homeless Ministry, goes every Wednesday to locations where homeless people live and sleep. They deliver men’s and women’s coats, jeans, hat and gloves, along with a meal. Food donations are also accepted. Place them in my office and I will see that John gets them.

December 8(Sun): 4:00 pm Service of Advent Lessons and Carols. Featuring scriptural readings, congregational singing of Advent carols, and presentations of anthems by the choirs of Christ Curch, Church of Epiphany, Church of the Good Shepard, and St. Bart. A reception of light refreshments will follow.

We are planning a bake sale for December 14 and 15th. Our success is going to depend on your generosity. So please when you are doing your Christmas baking, plan on donating your treats for the St. Bart’s bake-sale. We have such a great reputation for our baked goods at the fish fries, so let the baking begin. All treats greatly appreciated. Many Thanks Noreen Clements

Any 2020 calendars that you receive and won’t be using, please remember to place them in the food pantry baskets, They are really appreciated there….Also November and December kids are out of school during the holidays and in need of at least 3 meals a day.

Willoughby Food Bank is asking for toilet paper, cleaning supplies, trash bags, ziplock bags, feminine supplies and snacks that kids can carry in their backpacks. They appreciate and are very thankful for our generosity.

2 cents a meal loose change on the table in the Library. 1/2 goes to the Diocese for meal programs. 1/2 goes to the Epiphany Community meal.

Any special notices that need to be in the upcoming Sunday Bulletin need to be in the office by the preceding Monday.

We have switched to using pre-printed readings for the services. The following link takes you to the page where you can find copywrighted versions of the readings for any service.
