We distribute many items to the Willoughby Methodist Food Pantry. This includes items for the Food Baskets (see posted list of items) plus cleaning and paper goods. This includes very necessary items for daily cleaning of a home and personal hygiene (toilet paper, soap, trash bags, feminine supplies, etc.) that cannot be bought with food stamps. A year ago they supported 80 families and this has grown to 130 families. This is a very carefully administered program tailored to the most critical needs of each family.
We have been supporting the monthly Community Meal at Epiphany (fourth Sunday of every month). We have done complete meals from cooking to clean up and supported many others with desserts and other items. Sharing ourselves, talking with the gests and listening is perhaps one of the best gifts. Additional helpers are always welcomed. “many hands make the work light”. Please sign up if you can.
