Ministry

Ministry

We distribute many items to the Willoughby Methodist Food Pantry. This includes items for the Food Baskets (see posted list of items) plus cleaning and paper goods. This includes very necessary items for daily cleaning of a home and personal hygiene (toilet paper, soap, trash bags, feminine supplies, etc.) that cannot be bought with food stamps. A year ago they supported 80 families and this has grown to 130 families. This is a very carefully administered program tailored to the most critical needs of each family.

We have been supporting the monthly Community Meal at Epiphany (fourth Sunday of every month). We have done complete meals from cooking to clean up and supported many others with desserts and other items. Sharing ourselves, talking with the gests and listening is perhaps one of the best gifts. Additional helpers are always welcomed. “many hands make the work light”. Please sign up if you can.

Our support of Cub Scout Pack 124 has been a fantastic success thanks to Matt Mathews and everyone involved. This has grown from two people in 2013 to over 70 today.

Other donation programs have continued Including:
-Aluminum cans to Mayfield Village for burn victims
-Pop tops
-Toiletry items for homeless and other shelters
-Eye glasses to the Cleveland Sight Center
-Campbell soup labels to the Mayfield School System
-Printer Cartridges
-Bins are located on the wall before you enter the hall to the newer class rooms.

Greeters Needed! The Worship Committee is expanding the Lay Minister schedule to include one to two Greeters every Sunday for the 10:30am service. The Prayer Shawl Ministry is open to anyone who knits, crochets, or wants to learn how to create prayer shawls while meditating. The group meets at 7:00 p.m. in the “knitting room” on the first and third Wednesday of the month. Finished and blessed shawls are also available if someone wants to give one to another person. If you have questions, talk to Liz York.

Music Ministry

Yes, we have a Saint Bartholomew Choir! Please see our organist Aleksandr Leybkind if you are interested. The Worship Committee, with the support of our Vestry, is hard at work on enhancing our Sunday music ministry.

Saint Bart’s is now on Facebook! If you are a Facebook user, please join us online for friendly discussions, fellowship and enrichment, and to keep up-to-date on the l atest Parish goings-on! Our Parish website development project is also in full swing for non-Facebook users and we hope to have the site up very soon. Thanks to all who are helping with both Internet outreach ministries.
